Kontron OSM-S i.MX8M Plus is an Open Standard Module™ (OSM) compliant system-on-module powered by NXP i.MX8M Plus processor based on a quad Arm® Cortex®-A53 cluster and a single Arm® Cortex®-M7 core for real-time control as well as an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) operating at up to 2.3 TOPS in Cortex®-A53. It is the first SoM based on the OSM specification that provides this wide range of functions in the smallest installation space of only 30 mm x 30 mm. The powerful i.MX8M Plus SOC offers the highest performance for CPU-intensive applications and 3D graphics applications. The RISC processors of the Arm®-based SOC are the perfect basis for cost-sensitive embedded applications with high energy efficiency combined with high computing and graphics performance.

The SoM has two CAN interfaces and two Gigabit Ethernet Interfaces. One of the LAN ports support the Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) standard for real-time data communication.
